A Note From The Founder

I started The Healer’s Art, out of a need to help my family.

We have had some real ups and downs in the past, like many other families. Maybe you’re one of those families.

Years ago, while living in the Pacific Northwest, we had a major storm.  At the time, I was
playing the piano for a little church in Snohomish, WA.  That particular year, we had torrential
rains and major flooding far beyond what we typically experienced in the area.

Unfortunately for many, trucks carrying supplies and inventory to different stores were not
allowed to travel over the bridges, as those same bridges had been compromised due to
extreme weather conditions.

After playing the piano that particular day, I stopped over at the Safeway store.

It felt like a vacant (almost abandoned) warehouse.  It was shocking!  There were only a few
remaining items on the shelves.  I remember seeing a can of escargot and a few other items.  
The manager was standing there a bit bewildered, and I remember asking him how long it took
for the store to sell out.

He said, “two and one half hours.”

Wow!

He told me not store has more than three days’ worth of food at any given time as there isn’t
the room to stock all the inventory.

That experience left a profound imprint in my mind.

How many times had I heard people over the years say, “I don’t need to worry, the grocery
store is just across the street.”

Yes, maybe so.  But in emergency situations, you can’t count on that grocery store across the
street to have inventory for feeding your family.

The world is changing around us.

For us, our challenges came in the form of the loss of our jobs, our home and now some serious
health issues, with loss of income once again.

What do you do, when you are put in a position of making a choice between paying the
electricity bill or buying food for the night meal or morning breakfast?

And what if medical care or supplies are needed?  What then?

Emergency preparedness and foot storage are truly peace of mind for those “just in case”
moments.
